VCD has no control buttons

Tried burning a VCD using the two Nero software 6.0 and Video Express. The VCD burns fine but there are no control buttons on the splash/menu for the VCD. Like a Play button or OK button. I have to select a clip and press "1" on the remote control and THEN it starts playing!
