Anyone know if VC133 (virtual channel ram) is better than PC133? I'm about to make a Ram purchase for a Via KT133A chipset mobo.
Of course I don't have the mobo yet, they're not available yet.

Actually Dark4ng3l, only the newer mobos support VC133 ram ... my asus a7v does support.

Fergus: I asked this same question in these forums, and no one replied. Good luck ;)

athlonmb.com
there was another better benchmark, but i cant find the link.
I would like to see it benchmarked against DDR, if any of the big cheeses see this.

Via 133/133A chipsets also support it. I use 256 megs of it on my P3V4X. VC-133 shows more performance benefits on amd platforms than intel though. It may be due to the higher chipset to cpu bus on amd platforms or that the KT133 chipset has improved VC-133 support.

See sig. The stuff rocks and overclocks like a champ.

I tried Mushkin, and Crucial, but not Corsair. The Kingston VC133/128 (uses NEC chips)seems to handle overclocking better from what I've seen... The difference is not gross though. If the price is right then get it. If not go for the better deal. I got my first stick for about $170 and later the other for $97 when the prices fell. ccitek.com and memman.com offer it for good prices I've seen.

Right now its a VIA only memory... Atleast I think only VIA has supported it yet in their chipsets.
