Here's the situation.

I currently have a sparkle 6600GT (PCI-E) and an ASUS A8N-SLI deluxe. I was going to get another and go SLI, but the store i bought it from no longer stocks the "sparkle" version. Now am i right in thinking that i cant just get any two 6600GT's and SLI them?...

My other options are these:
1) Buy two new 6600GT's and SLI them (~AU$400/~US$520)
2) Buy an X800(Pro?) (~AU$300/~US$390) X800Pro
3) Buy an X800XL (~AU$450/~US$590)

So am i right in thinking that if i want to upgrade, i either need to find another sparkle 6600gt, or buy the X800Pro?

Thanks guys

Whoa those are some insane prices for video cards. Dump the 6600gt.

Ask someone here to buy one for you and send it there.

I would sell the 6600gt and buy that x800pro.

Right on the money here. Sell the 6600GT and buy a 6800GT, youll get better than SLI performance, for around $300 minus the sell price of your 6600.

Ok. Usually staticice finds all the best prices... I guess not always.

Also, i just checked availability, and the cheapest 6800gt i can actually get is $540, not $440. The $440 is only for members (and im not a member).

Hey rod, doesnt oz suck for high end graphic cards, i also cant find a 6800gt under $500AUD. Where u see x800xl for $450? I've seen 7800gt for ~$630AUD its only been a month since release, so i reckon if u wait for several months it should be ~$580 or maybe r520 if its as cheap as 7800gt.

Some1 startup a newegg in oz.

Newegg in oz - i wish.

Anyway, do you use static-ice? It's basically a computer component search engine for australia. (www.staticice.com.au)

I found the X800XL (PCI-E) on there for $410 at "Pacstar". Anyway, here's the link (it's at the bottom of the page): http://www.pacstarcomputer.com.au/shop4/index.php?cPath=37_109
