vB BETA

If you want people testing the functionality of the forums, turn the shit on.
Half the profile/setting stuff is either disabled or doesn't work.

I agree with this. If this is supposed to be the FINAL test, why is it exactly the same as the early beta tests? Doesn't make sense, and if vB is going live in days or weeks, we need it at full throttle for those days or weeks.

thats funny, i just tried logging in using my username and password i used from the previous beta test and it kept saying invalid password\username

i kinda agree with rich lol. I like how this forum doesn't look like all the other forums out there. Sure searching is useless and we have massive timewarp craziness but hey it makes us unique.

Search seems thorough, but very slow. I'm hoping that it's because the Hardware is limited at this time, being just Beta testing and all. Perhaps it was just bad timing on my part, Server Updating crap and such.

vBulletin looks VERY amateur/cluttered/messy

will there be personalization options to mimick a fusetalk style? the style of this forum has always been my favorite by far

Can I just say, about the new board...

:|:|:|:|:|

I couldn't say that on the new board, since it's limited to four images per post, including emoticons!

That needs fixing.

Some of the Mods would prefer 1 images/post in the social forums - the emoticon.

So you are getting 5 times more that what we would prefer.

At least we get images in post -- period. I still can't believe this board doesn't allow

It is the way it is due to intentional abuse by others. Do not blame the forum, blame (some of) the users.

The first thing I am going to do is turn off inline images in posts, sigs and avatars. Not having those pictures keeps this place 99% work safe, if there was no option to turn off images I think there would be a mass exodus of daytime posters.

Then these users should have been probated or banned. There's no reason to carpet bomb a knife fight. I'm a member of several boards that have over 100,000 members and have very few problems keeping posts SFW and image-spam free. Good moderation can go a long, long way. Not knocking AT's mods/admins, but they have control for a reason.

I've posted a few things on the vB site in the tech issues & suggestions.
Are we supposed to report them there? Over here?

Lucky you, everything appears to work up until I hit 'Post reply' on the new site then the connection just times out.

Anyone else encountering similar problems?

No problems here, but you quadruple posted with that reply.
