I'm looking for quiet 120mm LED fans to put into my case. I want them to be variable speed, manually controlled (I'll probably just set them to low and keep them there unless I do something intensive), but I don't want to go through the trouble and expense of a fan controller. I have narrowed it down to these two, but I am welcome to other suggestions. I have a Thermaltake Tsunami case.

I think 17dBA is a little questionable for that ThermalTake fan. Especially at 1300 dBA. Another good option is to hook up your fans to thermally controlled fan connectors on your PSU if you have them.

Thermaltake takes there measurements from like 20 yards away. All of their components are very loud. I woudln't get a variable speed fan. Get a Nexus, or a Panaflo fan and get a Fan Controller and clock it down if need be. It will be world better than either of those.

For your question, the Antec will be better.

Well, I don't want to go through the trouble of having to set up a fan controller, plus they're pretty expensive.

LOL 20 yards I believe it!!! I agree get a pannie / nexus / and look at the Silenx's 120mm 14 dba fans. They have a nice little resistor inbetween two 3 pin connectors and can be removed. With the resistor removed, they can be controlled by a fan controller, they will run at about 2500 (+ or - 100) rpm and push around 70/80 cfm's (an educated guess), but are still unbelievably quiet. They push around 58 cfm's and rated @ 14 dba's 1600rpm with the resistor. Fan controller will NOT work with these fans if you leave the resistors on. They are extremely quiet!

I am not sure what you mean by this, The Enermax 120mm has a variable resister hooked to it and I leave it up at max while using a fan controller to adjust the voltage. If the silentx are the same way then they should work with a controller. If they are different then I have no idea

Go with the Tt as it has a much better value. I have use antec fans right now and the are a little loud comparably. I am ordering Tt A1926 fans for my new case. If you can find a place that will let you return product and try both. It only takes a few days time and will give you the answer you are looking for without others biases(And there are quite a few out there that hate certain companies, but we won't name names).
