Vantec vs Volcano II review!!

Well, I just e-mailed to find out what mb he used in his celeron 2 based review. Initial comments would be that his t-bird, which runs at double the wattage, ran a mere 11F(6C) over the c2 temps, which, quite frankly, is impossible. He should be at least double the change over ambient(the c2 is roughly 27W, versus 67W for the t-bird). (for example, he got 28F over ambient with the C2, he should be at least antother 28F(if not more) before his t-bird core temp)

Will know more when he responds with c-2 testing mb.

I hate GlobalWin for making the FOP38, now every heatsink maker thinks it can just slap a loud Delta fan on a mediocre heatsink and call it a great cooling solution. :|

Did you take into consideration that the CeleronII tests we with the CPU at 1.85v and the T-bird was at 1.75v? I think that may indeed affect the heat produced, eh?

The celeron 2 at his tested speed maxes out at 34W

The t-bird at his tested speed/voltage maxes out at 63.6W

Even at 1.4Volts, the T-bird at 1.2ghz is still gonna pushing out some 40+W. My original statement still stands, the t-bird should be roughly twice as hot over ambient as the celeron2.

One more thing to consider is that they took the readings off the CORE temp within the P3 die, and the temp on the themal sensor BELOW the core on the TBird, that too could account for the changes..
