Vantec Tornado too loud

Just built my rig with an AMD Barton 2500+m and Thermalright heatsink 947U, which I had to modify for my Abit NF7-2 r2 board by Dremeling one side of the upper plate, and things are great except the Vantec Tornado is so loud! Can anyone point me to a good quiet 92mm fan for oc'ing. Basicially I am willing to try less cfm's for less decibels. Obviously I don't want to comproomise on cooling significantly. It would also be nice if you could tell me about rpm detection. I'm spoiled that the Vantec has a built in cable. If the suggested fan doesn't have rpm detection, please detail how to set it up.

Thanks

I have the Vantec Tornado 92mm with SLK-947U but I use a fan controller, I use the nexus 201 fan controller the Tornado is now @ 2800RPM very quiet :)

if you don't want a fan controller get yourself the 92mm Panaflo M1A or H1A both are excellent fans for quiet users;)

Don't forget Vantec also has the Stealth. You shouldn't need anything like a Tornado with a 120mm fan anyways. 120mm fans already push a lot.

Vantec Tornado is: 80 and 92mm. And yes, VERY loud. At least when hooked up to it's own power (not the "Fan power" plug on the Antec True430 ). I just moved it to it's own 5v plug and I think I might move it back! Contemplating using a different fan altogether actually. Mind you it is keeping my CPU cooler. Just ran prime95 and cpu was at 56C and now with the tornado on it's own 5v plug cpu is running prime95 at ~47C.

Edit: maybe I will move this tornado into my bathroom vent and buy a stealth instead ;)

I have a 92mm stealth on my SLK900u. I have it plugged to the "Fan Only" plug on my True430 PS, and it is almost inaudible. It's spinning at 2450rpm and cooling great. The factory cooling fan on the 9700pro is easily louder.

Im using the thermaltake 90mm (actually 92mm) smart case fan rated at 4000 rpm (runs at 3500) w/3 leds from newegg for $18 or so on my sp94. Not too loud and runs like a dream. It even has an attached fan controller if you want to lower the rpms.
