I was looking at a Vantec nexus temp and fan monitor (the 101 I believe), would it be better to use that to monitor cpu temps as opposed to the temp sensor on the mobo/cpu itself? anyone have one? good/bad?

I'll be running a panaflo L1A 92mm on the HS and 2 panaflo 120mm L1A's for the case.

Thanks!

Sorry for the double post, mods feel free to delete the first one. I have the nexus and have been really happy with it. I'm running a 2.26 @ 2.83 with a cooler master & att fan. But i don't use the fan control for the cpu i use it for the thermal take smart fan on the back of my lian li case i also cut out the safety grid on the back of my case and increased my airflow like 80 percent. Then i use the hdd probe for the radeon cause i have that oc'd as well. Also like the two usb and firewire super easy to plug and play.

I was talking to someone else who has one and he said that the nexus 101 will just keep beeping if the fans don't have an rpm lead so it thinks the fan is dead. Kinda looking at the Digital Doc 5 tho too....

thanks for the input!

Well all i did was get a threading needle and pushed out the pin to the yellow wire on the thermal take smart fan, yea thermal take does the seperate line thing so you get two plugs one yellow wire plug and a two wire blk & red plug. But it's super easy once you get the plug out you just slide it in with the blk & red plug now you have fan control. I really like the three probes it definitly tells you whats going on with your rig.

But to each his own....
