Hmm I just got the thing. It comes with two heatsinks. I'm guessing there for a southbridge or something which my board doesn't have. Just checking they aren't suposed to combine with the fan in some way which doesn't seem possible... Also is there a way to get the chipset heatsink off the msi k8n neo without taking the board off the case? Can I just pull it off or should I take the case off and squeeze the plastic so it goes out of the board easy?

I'm not sure what the heatsinks are, but they're likely for the northbridge and southbridge (and yes, your motherboard doesn't have a northbridge).

As for removing the heatsink - this should always be done with care. Ripping heatsinks off is never good. Besides, why do you feel the need to remove a perfectly good southbridge heatsink to replace it? Your southbridge should hardly ever get warm, and likely doesn't even need a heatsink at all.
