Im looking at both MRK-300FD-BK and MRK-102FD-BK and have a really dumb question about how they work (the pictures are kind of deceiving).

My take is that if, for example, I buy three of these and install one in my computer, I can easily swap out the three drives by simply pulling the one out and putting another one in, without having to open my computer or connect anything.

Im looking to have three hard drives, each with different installs of os's and dont want one to see the other. I was looking at the Trios Hard Drive Selector, but my take on the Vantec EZ Swap is that I can have one hard drive in each, then when I want to switch os's, I can simply turn the computer off, pull one out and push another in, and turn it back on without having to open the computer or connect anything.

Usually on swappable HD's like that you attach the enclosure in a 5.25 bay and plug that into your IDE cable.

Then you install the HD's into a drive cage that slides in and out of it. That piece has a mating pin setup that snaps together to the enclosure.

Haven't used either of those models but most are the same.
