Vantec Aeroflow

It's pretty decent, a bit loud (high pitched) but bearable if you have a rheobus or you BIOS can automatically slow the fan down.

all the reviews i heard said it was quiet, one of the reasons i wanted it was for the quiet fan, hmmm.

any suggestions for a quiet hsf that still cools well

thermalright sp-94 (new version of slk-900). Get a quiet 92 mm panflo on top.
EDIT: Don't use the fan that comes with it. Get a 92 mm that is quieter.

Thats like $50... :Q

I have the Vantec Aeroflow, I have no idea what the people are talking about with the fan noise. There's no high pitch coming from my case.

It seems to do a good job of keeping my P4 cool.

so a 90mm fan will be quiet, i dont want to spend $50 on cooling, but I guess if it will allow me run my cpu at higher speeds then its not a bad price.

also, how was the install on the vantec, one of my concerns is ruining my cpu installing a heatsink, which I have done before.

related to this, whats all the talk about the reliability of the YSTech fans? Is is just a case where people over tighten their fans or what?

I use it on my p4 2.53 at 3.0. It's reasonably quiet and lowered my load temps 9 degrees C over the retail unit.

With mine going full-tilt (5500 rpm or so) it's louder than my Raptor (and enough to keep me awake at night). If I set the Asus fan speed limiter thingy (forgot the name) at 12/15 (80%) it's MUCH quieter, and still keeps my overclocked Athlon XP 2500+ cool.

Very happy with it, it's quiet if you don't put your ear on it...
and very good performance/noise ratio... and cheap too...
anyway just get it,

granted, it's not as good as slk900/panaflo combo, but the price justifies it...
