People,
I have a Asus v3800c (vanta 16Mb) card on my super socket7 Mobo. the chipset is a ali aladdin. I have win2k prof. running. my problem is that win2k hangs after every few minutes with this card. i've plugged in a friends card and it worked fine( S3 virge).
i have tried all the drivers from asus's web site to the latest from nvidia(6.49, 7.17 etc)
and nothing works.
any help appreciated.

Win2k does NOT like TNT/TNT2 based cards on Ali5 based motherboards. It wouldn't even begin installing when I had my V770 on my P5A

Well, it's actually a known hardware compatibility issue. So the fix is basically plug virtually anything else in. Matrox G400/450s seem to work great (in Win9x atleast)

I have always heard that super 7 boards were particular about the vid card. I always used Ati with no problem. But not a good performance choice though.
