Toyota made a van, very similar to the VW in many ways, but more reliable, watercooled, and with pretty good mileage. I owned one...got around 22-24MPG. Good hauler, too. The thing DID feel like the commercial grade vehicle it was...in other words, don't expect a "carlike ride". But other than that, it's solid. Shockingly small turning radius, too. And RWD!

are you talking about a full size van or minivan? Year: 2006
Make: Dodge
Transmission: Auto(L4)
Engine: 2.4-liter V-4
Model: Caravan 2wd
Class: Spec Purp Veh - Minivan - 2wd
City MPG: 20
Highway MPG: 26
Combined MPG: 22
Fuel Type: Regular
Estimated Fuel Cost: $2010.3*

Get some kind of 4cyl for a minivan and it won't eat that much
