I must say, some of the racial mounts look pretty dang cool. I really want to like VG, but it left a bad taste in my mouth last year. I wonder if its time to give it another try, they've uploaded a lot of updates in the last 12 months.

Can you name any SOE games that had the monthly fee removed? Can you name any MMOs without a monthly fee that area actually good? Psst, the answer to both is no.

This game had so much promise. I played the beta and the chugging aside it was rather fun. I may revisit it if the AOC lauch sucks.

I played it at launch and it was as boring as LOTRO.

I played it during the last month of Beta, and then never played again until about a month ago. I played a Bard to level 20 and had quite a bit of fun in the process. The game has come a long way and I am glad I played it again.

I don't have that longing desire to play every night like I did EQ, but then I am 10-years older and I don't really like long gaming sessions on any game like I used to. Anyway, I am not the only person who has given it another try in the last couple months and found the game enjoyable and radically improved. The reason I actually tried it again was because I read quite a few people say the same thing since Jan/Feb of this year on several forums.

For the most part - the core of Planetside. Granted, you can't get past BR6 without paying, but BR6 is plenty good enough. And it USED to be good, before it got outdated and they started adding crap to it.

Unfortunately Vanguard suffers from both having the monthly fee AND sucking nuts 🙁

I really wanted this game to succeed. I remember years ago first reading about it in a gaming mag and thinking "Wow this sounds like a cool game, can't wait!" However, once I got into closed beta, my dreams were shatter (a bit dramatic but you get the idea 🙂 ). Even with the bad closed beta, I still bought the game and played it up to lvl 25ish before I couldn't take anymore. I would really love to give it another shot, and actually had it downloaded the other day, but after playing the Age of Conan PVP weekend I just couldn't bring myself to spend $15 on a month test of Vanguard and instead invested that money into a AoC pre order. It's too bad, could have been a really fun game, life goes on though.
