Oh, another idea. How about these teachers that are molesting (I use that word loosely here, for comedic effect) teenage males just start heading over to fraternities and taking care of their business. Seems like a possible solution.

I'm also not opposed to women starting to rape passed out males with all manner of sex toys to make a point that being "passed out" isn't the same as consent, intent, or desire. That would turn the tables real quick I do believe.

Batey raped the woman and urinated on her, prosecutors said.
I'm just guessing here.. R. Kelly fan?

I mean really.. it's bad enough to rape the girl, but then to piss on her?

I do hope the judge sentences these creeps to the maximum possible time in prison, same with the other two creeps when they are convicted.

Well when you're dumb enough to provide photographic evidence of yourself raping a passed out girl the regular defenses kind of go out the window. You might as well try a Hail Mary.

Added to that, closed circuit images of them.
The images showed players carrying an unconscious woman into an elevator and down a hallway, taking compromising pictures of her and then dragging her into the room.

Many people refer to a person called "drunk me" who apparently has a very different personality than sober them.

Yeah, but if your "drunk me" happens to be a rapist, it's probably better for society to lock both of you up. You don't let Mr. Hyde off the hook just because Dr. Jekyll is so well-mannered.

There are so many screwed up aspects to this story.

Girl passes out, gets raped by multiple people, wakes up the next day with no clue what happened, talks to one of the guys involved who tells her she was drunk and passed out so he took care of her all night, she sleeps with him voluntarily that day, etc. Finds out later there is a video of the incident from the night she passed out... etc. etc.

Gotta love their attempted defense:

Classic new defense: Oh hey look, I was drunk and the culture here makes it seem like the thing to do after a party is to shove things into people when they're passed out and then pee on them while recording it.

It's fortunate this generation of kids enjoy recording everything that happens in their lives and then also sharing it with everyone in their lives. Otherwise I don't know how the jury would have convicted on this. Probably wouldn't even have made it to trial considering they are football players at a school in a major conference.

They deserve everything they'll eventually get.

how do you "rape" a chick your already dating???????

Dating someone does not constitute automatic consent.Every person has the right to decide what they do and don't want to be doing at any given moment If some one is unconscious they are not able to consent. If a woman is drunk she may have much more testosterone in her system than she usually does and may eagerly participate in things she wouldn't do when sober so some people think that an intoxicated woman is not capable of knowing consent.

Don't parents teach their sons common sense? Why didn't their fathers pull them aside and say, "Don't rape someone and videotape yourself doing it, or not only will your mother and I disown you, I will personally chop off your balls and choke you to death with them."? Getting drunk and passing out is pretty common in college; if you think that women shouldn't do that because, "hey, guys will just rape the shit outta you because common sense," you're part of the problem and you need to seriously examine why you place ANY blame on the victim in a case like this.

The football players are entirely to blame for the crime they committed. That said, passing out around strangers is never a good idea, regardless of gender. I know people who have had their wallets and phones stolen that way. Guess what? They never passed out around strangers again. I suppose that behavior change is wrong, because they're "blaming the victim (themselves)", right?

No she didn't start it. No she wasn't asking for it. Yes she needlessly passed out around a bunch of strangers and some of those strangers turned out to be rapists. Part of being an adult is learning to avoid potentially bad situations, it's the same reason you don't go to the bad part of town at night. Maybe you can go there 100 times and be fine, but on the 101st you'll be mugged. Why? Because it's the bad part of town and it's a better idea to avoid it when you can. The world can be a shitty place sometimes, and this poor girl obviously wasn't raised to be prepared for it.

Lol, I've got an experiment for you.

1. Find girl to go on a date with you.
2. Establish verbally that you are in fact "dating".
3. Immediately force yourself on her.

See how that works out for you.

To be clear, she had been dating one of the guys. So I guess there was some level of trust there... however misplaced. This trust of course extended for some period of time after the incident as well.

Also, there is some belief (not proven) that a drug was possibly used in the last drink she remembers having. It was provided by Vandenberg and she doesn't remember anything after drinking it. The problem is she didn't know all of this happened until later and my understanding is by then they couldn't test for it.
