I'd bet it wasn't eggs. Too much liquid and not enough of what could be shells to be eggs.

Vaseline gets in the lock. If there's vaseline in there, a key won't fit in there. The end.

My big issue with it is it's just gross. We have to touch that lock to open the gate and hence the vaseline gets on our hands. And yes, it can mess up the lock.

Plus it's rude. But that's typical of our neighbours, and I wouldn't even put it past some of the 'adults' here.

Yes, pumpkins disapate once they are broken leaving nothing but a brown liquid like substance and only a few seeds.
