Howdy,

I'm hoping someone from Vancouver or that's been through there lately can helpme out. My family is taking a crusie this summer and we leave out of Vancouver at the Canada Place port. It's just north of "downtown" vancouver. I'm trying to find us a hotel to stay at because we are flying in the day before. I'm looking for something inexpensive since we are already dumping a couple grand apiece on the cruise. The main requirement is we want to be within walking distance of whatever there is to do during the day in Vancouver. Wandering through downtown or whatever is there to see.

Can anyone recommend me what's in that area that's not overly expensive? So far from looking online I've found most hotels in that downtown-ish area from $175 - $350 and I'd like to be below that. I'm not looking for a Motel 6, but just a decent hotel at a good price.

Thanks for any input.

Might go without saying, but avoid the Howard Johnson downtown on Granville.

That is all.

East Vancouver's not that bad. My office is there and it's pretty nice.
