Vancouver Holiday

We are coming to vancouver the end of sept for 8 days, we are not realy ones for holidays in the city but would like to be close, i will hire a car.

we are looking for a base if you will maybe near a nice lake, it will be days out in the car and back to base. it will need some places to eat and a few bars would be nice.

Now i booked the flights £420 each return nice proce from the UK, half of what i paid last year to Calgary

So does anyone have a suggestion for somewhere to stay for 8 days?

and for things to do

I'd suggest you look to the north of Vancouver, near the Squamish/Whistler area. It's full of mountains, lakes, streams etc, and Whistler has a lot of bars and restaurants.

Harrison Hot Springs also fits the bill and probably is less expensive than Whistler.
