Finally, the Vancouver Canucks make a trade to strengthen the goalie position :D

To Tampa Bay: Adrian Aucoin (D)

To Vancouver: Dan Cloutier (SP?) (G) and a 2nd rounder next year

I guess we could sacrifice some D-men since we are rolling in some young talented D-men. Felix Potvin has been offered a 2 week conditioning assignment in the minors and if does not take it he will be waived.

Cheers,

Yeah........... i liked him but he got in Marc Crawfords bad books :( The upside is that Cloutier is young and before he got stuck with TB he was a pretty good goalie with NYR :D

Damn, they traded Aucoin? I thought he was a great defenseman...

But I guess the goalie position is much more desperate... I really would like to see them get some proven goalie instead though...

Cloutier is actually not that bad. His stats look bad because he was playing for TB.......... if you look at his NYR record he's pretty good.

As for proven goalies........... they are too expensive, old, too much trouble or unavailable. ie. Ed Belfour & Dominic Hasek

Give him sometime......... he's young.

It seems like the end of Felix right now. He's got NO marketability. He had so much promise at the start of his career here in Toronto.

I like the guy but he has got to find some way to get his confidence back. Maybe if he can get a job with one of the european leagues.

I'm surprised Crawford was as patient with Potvin as he was. Essensa's has been the number 1 goalie this season and he should have been made #1 much earlier. Potvin just doesn't seem to care half the time, but Essensa has always played well.

I remember Potvin when he started with the Leaf's. He was awesome for awhile, then he started playing like he is now. It's sad really.

Aucoin is good, but he too has been iffy this season. The Canucks have a good defense though, so losing Aucoin shouldn't be a problem.

He's been like that for years. It seems like Burns was the only one who could handle him. Goalies have very fragile egos when it comes to playing. I know, I played Junior and got drafted by the "big league" and never bothered attending camp. I'm afraid he's reched that point and don't know if he'll come back. But boy he had a good few years.

Too bad that if by some amazing stroke of luck they make the playoffs they will be nothing but first round fodder.

I saw the Dec. 23rd (I think) Avs/Nucks game in Denver. Jovo and Deader were in the best fight I have ever seen. Even better than Parker/Brashear 2 seconds into the game.

I was initially bitter that Crawford left, but I am liking Hartley more and more every year.
