Looks like it should be good, and hopefully it will convince people that Hugh Jackman is capable of playing something other than a metal-clawed mutant. Though the musicals he did that they showed on PBS should have done that.

Penny-Arcade takes on Van Helsing.

Yup, that's the one. Not sure if they're using that as the springboard for the plot for this movie or not.

Movies like this, IMO, either suck hard or totally rock. There's almost no middle of the road. From the look of this, though, and just knowing Hollywood, I'm betting on the final product being like LXG. Though I'll be pleasently surprised if proven wrong about it.

i believe this movie is by the same peopel that did the mummy and will feaure vampires werwolves an frankenstin

edit: just read the synopsis and i was right..i saw some footage on a show and the cgi didnt look bad at all, i wonder if it will have the same campy humor as the mummy

Rent some of those Mid 60's to mid 70's Hammer Horror films and you will see Von Helsing in there chasing Christopher Lee

There is a cool manga and anime serious called helsing.

One of my CS TAs is from Transylvania. He says that Dracula is actually a big hero there, from when he saved the small country from the invading Turks. He liked to execute the prisioners gruesomely to warn the other troops.
