I love Van Halen and always have but I think their golden years were with DLR. I like Sammy as Sammy but I don't feel VH was the same after he joined. The DLR years were so much more raw and original and less synthesized and "pop" sounding.

I wish they would stop all of their bickering and reunite for good.

So...which do you feel were their best years: With DLR or Sammy?
 
DLR by a long shot. I can't take much Van Hagar -- maybe Sammy's a better singer than DLR, but Roth had charisma and, hey, charisma goes a long way.

I agree 100%. Dave was flashy yet was the perfect frontman for VH.
