Van Halen FINALLY Returning????????

One more thing about those old album sales:
Yes, the Dave era sold more, but you have to take into account how many times the same people have bought those records over and over because of media changes and wear.
I had VH, VH2, Diver Down, on vinyl. Then tape. Then replaced all of those tapes several times due to wear. Then CD. Then the remasters.
The Sammy era only had one record, 5150, that wasn't released on CD to start with. Unless you lose or break your CD, it'll be a LONG time before you have to replace it.
Not saying that the Dave albums wouldn't have sold more regardless, but the figures would be much closer.

I've always loved Van Halen although I don't claim to own all of their music nor keep up with their goings on very often. I really like the stuff with Dave and enjoyed them with Sammy but it didn't have the same feel to it anymore. I haven't heard anything they've done in the last ten years or so, however.

Alright, another old washed band coming back to make more money.
Not really. VH never retired, they have been on hiatus due to multiple issues, health, family, and obviously the lack of a lead singer.
So not like the Who or the Stones who occasionally tour whether they have a new album or not just to make some cash.
