Van Halen 2004 Tour...

I need to know who's opening for them and how long of a set they play. I need to find out if I'll be able to make the concert in Grand Rapids, MI after I get out of work at 6:30 in Metro Detroit.

Sammy's back with Van Halen. I've been waiting for this tour since the Van Halen 3 tour ended back in 1998. You start going a little crazy after not hearing any new Van Halen material for 6 years.

Not sure who the opening act was, since I got to the show I went to (Buffalo) when they were more or less finishing up their set, but for a 7:30 show, Van Halen went on around 8:30. The opening act played for about 30-40 minutes or so.

I saw Van Halen back in the 80's when David Lee Roth was their front man. I'll never forget the sight of seeing thousands of hot chicks wearing tight jeans, with their feathered hair looking most awesome. It just wasn't the same with Sammy.

There were two new songs on "The Best of - Volume 1" with David Lee Roth. They released a whole album with Gary Cherone (sp?) a couple years later.

I'd kind of like to see them in concert, but my favorite Van Halen songs are all with David Lee Roth - I'm not sure if they're not playing those for Sammy's benefit or what. I'm trying to find a set list now.

Edit: Found a setlist for their shows, looked at three and they're all pretty similar

Leaving detroit at 6:30 and hitting Grand Rapids for a 7:30 show? That's a tight schedule man, especially with traffic...assume that your average opener (Silvertide in your case) takes 45 minutes, plus in-between set time...

We may goto one of the shows either Grand Rapids, or Chicago, and if we do go we are going to buy the Vip package
