Vampire the Masquerade wont Install.

I know there's heaps of threads on installing this game but none match my error. When I try to install the game, the Installer loads - no problem. But once it reaches the 'configuring installshield' part, it comes up with a message that says
"1607: Unable to install InstallShield Scripting Runtime". Any way to fix or prevent this?
 
Keep trying. It was a great game.

Once you get it working, don't forget the patches, the game really needs them. You'll have to ask someone else about the patches it's been a long time since I played the game.
 
VTM won't start for me. Windows 7. I simply get an error saying it won't load. No reason or error code given. Game generated message.
 
Sorry for the off-topic question, but I used the widescreen utility to enable 1920x1200 in this game, and while it did enable 1920x1200, everything appeared stretched and distorted. Is this normal?
