Install the latest unofficial patch, 2.4 I believe it is. It fixes a lot of bugs.

As far as your starting character, I had the most fun as a Malkavian, but I wouldn't suggest starting as one your first time through, their dialogue would be nonsense to you. 😛

Try a Ventrue or a Toreador if you want to do more persuation and seduction, I found them both very fun to play.

If you want a more run and gun style, the Brujah and Gangrel are better fighters.

On a side note, whatever clan you decide on, make sure you take Nine's advice and learn how to fight decently. You'll need it for the game's ending sequences.

Thanks...ill try brujah or gangrel, i think. or is the fighting not very good? if so...ill choose ventrue or toreador. the latest patch is 2.5...its taking forever to dl though.

any mods or anything that make it better?

Seems I need to DL the new patch then. 😛

I found the game's dialogue to be much more interesting than the combat. Plus, you can get more experience through the dialogue options available through the ventrue and toreador than you can through the simpler brujah or gangrel. Your choice. As I said, I had the most fun as a Malk, best play experience IMO. Its just not a good choice to start with because they are insane and their dialogue reflects it.

The Ventrue have a huge downside. They won't feed off rats, and bums and prostitutes can make them sick. So they wouldn't be my first choice.

I think the Tremere are my favorite. The Malkavians are the most amusing, but probably not the easiest since you don't always know what you're saying.

Brujah definitely - very simple to play and highly effective.

Don't forget to install the official 1.2 patch before you install the unofficial 2.5 patch.

thanks guys...any way to make the brightness in this game higher? i can barely see anything....and the only method to be able to see decently is to turn my monitor to 100% brightness, which is a pain.

any tips on what to put my experience points in? should i even bother with the 3 disciplines? im a brujah

I never played through as a Brujah. Actually, I never made it out of Santa Monica as one, after I spoke to Jeannette at the Asylum and realized how lame the dialogue was going to be, I quit the Brujah.

What disciplines did they have again? You can get a description of each level of the discipline by mousing over each dot. Some things to consider though. Blood cost? Masquerade violation?

Since there will be relatively few chances for you to persuade and seduce people, I'd only put minimal points into those attributes and those that contribute towards them. Concentrate on your phsyical skills to get your combat level up. Do you plan on focusing on melee weapons or guns? I used a lot of melee weapons because of the recoil on the guns, but I never played a character with high ranged weapon skills.

I've only played the Malkavian. Lots of fun and it's not true about being more difficult because they are half-crazy. There's a lot of nonsense that they say but it's pretty amusing and the general idea is always made known. Concentrate on physical attributes that contribute to fighting and also on computer stuff so hacking comes easier. Mostly you'll need good fighting skills though.

Fun game, I should play it again.
