Vampire the Masquerade, mouse gets stuck?

So I thought I'd give this game a go since I've heard some good things. I played for a bit with the official 1.2 patch, and then applied the latest 'unofficial' one. With both versions I experience a weird problem where my mouse and/or keyboard gets stuck and my character constantly moves in one direction and I can't use the mouse. But if I hit that direction button, it stops and goes back to normal. It doesn't happen every time, but enough to where I'm having trouble playing. Has this happened to anyone else? Is there a problem with this game and logitech setpoint software/drivers?

I never had that specific problem with VtMB, but my Logitech MX1000 mouse has been known to act quirky sometimes when certain versions of Setpoint are installed. It seemed to have the most issues during the 3.xx series of Setpoint, though, I haven't had any issues since the 4 series was released.

Ok, found a solution from another forum. If you have this issue run the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode. Not sure what the cause is, but that's a solution.

Although completely unrelated to your issue, I had a similar problem with KOTOR2 - once battle was completed, I couldn't move my character for about thirty seconds. Some Googling suggested the issue happened with multi core CPUs.
