Here's a roll of toilet paper. Thanks for crapping by. 🙂
How far did you get in the game?

Chances are he never played it.

I've been wanting to give it go, as it looks pretty immersive.
Just gotta find the time 🙂

I think the game is pretty dang awesome. The combat is a little rough, but the character interaction and storylines are to die for. 😀

Edit - I've got a 2.4C with a GT, running at 1280x1024 high details, but haven't tried turning on any AA yet. Game still looks awesome.

What do you think about the graphics? Better or worse than Half-Life 2? Especially textures since their lowly detailed in HL2.
I am thinking about getting this game, I think it's cool after reading its preview on PC Gamer.

So keys, how is the game different from Half-Life 2? Is it like how "Deus Ex" was to all those Q3/UT-engine based shooters?

I just uninstalled the game.
I played two characters up the the ocean house part. I decided I didnt like my first character so I went with a different one. Replaying thru I find you have to play the game exactly the same way. You must complete such and such task before you can do such and such thing. There is no multiple ways to complete a quest. The story is perfectly linear. Even trying to pick different dialogue options the game works you into playing the exact same way each time. Anyone want to buy my copy for shipping + 15$ let me know

The Ocean Hotel was one of the best done quests I've ever seen. The first major story split that I've enountered is Thereas and Jeannette, whether you save one of them or both of them. That will have a major impact later on. Also, the injured girl in the SM Medical Center, whether you save her or not will have an impact later. Not sure what you mean by perfectly linear storyline. The Elizabeth Dane quest later on, if you kill a bunch of cops, LaCroix gets ticked at you and you don't get a new apartment and don't get as many reward points to spend.

I may take you up on your offer though, my copy isn't exactly legit. 🙁

I'll wait until after it's been thoroughly patched. From what I've seen, there are at least 2 game killing bugs. You can use a console command to jump one of them, but that should never happen in a retail product. The numerous spelling errors are generally indicative of the state of QA for this game. Inactivision strikes again.

Troika has a lack of QA, not Activision. Got to give credit when credit is due though, and Bloodlines delivers. There are a lot of spelling errors I've noticed, but the voices are top notch, and I won't let a misspelling like 'broring' ruin my enjoyment of a good vampire game.

I never really got into Redemption, the previous Vampire game. I may pick it up after playing Bloodlines though. 🙂

I cannot find anything saying that this game was built on SM3. There doesn't seem to be anything extraordinary in the graphics dept except for peoples eyes. The eyes are very life-like and glisten when
a light source hits them as real eyes are shiny. The other thing I noticed was the actual physics of the charectars when they walk, dance, mannerisms, very realistic. I guess that would be the source engine and little to do with SM3. In other words, the world has very real people walking and talking in it, not a bunch of stiff robots walking about. I am finding that my framerate falls well below 30 when I'm on the streets and many people are walking around. I need to try this on my GT and see how this improves with the extra memory.

We knew that nvidia list was bullshit.

And how did "we" know that Vernor? Do you work at the software developers so you can actually say something that has a shred of truth? Or are you just wasting our time with pointless, baseless speculation?

It's called common sense.

Game developers are not going to waste too much time and money on features only a miniscule percentage of potential buyers can use.

Anyone have a dunce cap handy for Vernor? Mine are all being used up by various forum members.
I'll have to swing by "Boneheads R Us" and pick up a few dozen more as they are going like hotcakes in here. 😉

As opposed to content-free ad hominem, obviously.

The irony is rich.

Whatever bookworm, you sound like you got it all figured out anyway. Oh, excuse me, "have" it all...

And yes I find the stator objectionable and cannot take the stator's comment seriously. The stator has made a claim of bullshit when nobody asked for a true or false answer. Stator seems incapable of rational conversation when one is presented. In short, "What UP??"

Dont.. the bugs are K I L L E R. It was difficult to play especially after the first half. My game crashed at least 25 times within what should have been a ten hour period of gameplay. The game was decent but I would never have subjected myself to all that if I had known before hand how bad the bugs would be.

So tell me. What does SM2 look like? Is it one thing I have to look out for? Or a thousand, to let me know that something is or is not SM2/3... I really wish you F**king people would go away. I never said it looked different in any way shape or form. I only made statements as to what I noticed graphically in the game that I have never seen before (shiny eyes) and never said it was or was not due to SM2/3. WTF is wrong with your perception when you read something? It's like you read something I posted, then suddently it registers as something else in your grey matter.

Thread over. Mods please lock, too much BS.

So you start a thread about a game in the Video forum, and you're pissed people are talking about the graphics engine.

Get a grip, dude.

I said pick it up . . . never said how. 😛

Seriously, its probably like 10 bucks in a bargain bin and its been 4 years. Some of the bugs should have been fixed by now.
