Totally worth the price. One of the few RPGs I played through twice. I'm even thinking of giving it a third go. (As a Tremere, played Toreador and Malk)

I loved Vampire: Masquerade. It was probably my favorite video game ever, maybe tied with Starcraft.

I'm looking at some videos of the game play and I'm a little disappointed by the graphics. It looks like Half-Life 1 era graphics. I can't believe a game that came out in 2009 look like this.

Also the fact that you can't customize the appearance of your character sucks. Can you equip your character with items that affect your character's attributes like strength, speed, armor, attack, etc? And magic items, the same way you could in Vampire: Masquerade?

Also would be cooler if the setting were historical rather than contemporary.

To everyone who's played both Vampire:Masquerade, and Bloodlines, what do you think of my above observations? Is it still worth playing this game?

Maybe that's because it came out in 2004.

The game looks like it has old graphics because IT'S AN OLD GAME

I've pretty much stopped buynig from direct2drive after hearing they're owned by Ruprt Murdoch (unconfirmed though), but I went to look at this and it shows $19.99.

As mentioned, the game came out in 2004...I have no idea why you thought it came this year for $10. It uses the original HL2 engine.

There are items and armor that increase your characters abilities, in addition to experience/skill points.

Most definitely. I've played it 3 times, finished it twice. I've been gaming since the early 90's, and if i had to make a top 10 of the very best games i've played during those years this would definitely be included.

The game might be good and all, but it's in NOT worth ten bucks now, especially as a digital download. Even if it is, it's not a hot deal, it's the max price. $2-5 would be a hot deal.

First, it is very old. Second, it was good, but far from very good even when it just came out. I played it when it was released and only got through about 35% of the game. I just could not take it anymore. The premise was very cool, but there was just something lame and mediocre about the execution, and I'm still not sure what it was exactly. Perhaps the game picks up later, but I didn't want to wait till then.

You're in the minority, most people who've played it say it belongs in the top 10 of PC RPGs, including me.

It's from 2004 and uses the original Source engine so the graphics aren't cutting edge, but the art and music direction is excellent, and the voice acting is very good. Level design is also very good.

It's a good game but was originally a buggy POS. Don't forget to apply all the official AND unofficial patches. I also highly recommend the Camarilla Edition mod.
