Valvoline is offering a $5 MIR (direct link to rebate)on the purchase of 5 quarts of any Valvoline Motor Oil. (Rebate expires April 15, 2008)

$19.99 - $5 MIR = $14.99

I know Fram filters suck and all, but from what I've read the Tough Guard isn't too bad.

Fram filter is probably worth about $3. So that's like paying $2.40 a quart.... or $3 a quart if you decide to trash the filter. Regardless, pretty decent deal if you ask me.

Tough Guard isn't as bad as I had remembered. As long as you don't mind the 'Cardboard' endcaps, it's fine.

BTW: This is a good price for Synthetic Oil. I personally prefer AMSOIL. From what I have heard, you will not see ANY OTHER brand of synthetic motor oil state "%100 Synthetic" on their products. I do not know what percentage of 'blends' other brands use or if there are certain organic components that other brands use. But I do know that the AMSOIL guys make it a point to let you know that their product is the only %100 Synthetic brand out there. I get my AMSOIL for less then $25 a gallon (I buy a case of 4x1gallons).

my autozone store has oil deals everytime i go.. it was less than 30$ NO REBATE for 10 quarts of vavloline and two tough guard fram oil filters.. one car down one to go.. change the oil every 2 months so dont think ill use 25$ a gallon stuff altho i might if i had a lambo or something hehe

its like 11$ or 13$ depending what oil you get

Well, the $25 a gallon stuff recommends that you change your oil once a year...

I put a little over 400 miles a week on my car. I'd gladly pay $25 to only have to change it once a year!
Now the tricky part is finding a once a year filter that'll go with the once a year oil! 🙂

What you can do is return the junk fram filter withotu a reciept and exchange ti for a AC, STP, etc...

I use Mobil1 and change my oil once per year with a filter change mid year. 150,000 and going strong so far...
