The verdict is in. Valve wins against Vivendi:

Valve today announced the U.S. Federal District Court in Seattle, WA granted its motion for summary judgment on the matters of Cyber Café Rights and Contractual Limitation of Liability in its copyright infringement suit with Sierra/Vivendi Universal Games.

From what I understand, there will be a judgement on several things. Instead of a longer drawn out court battle.

IIRC Bill Roper left Blizzard mainly becuase of Vivendi pushing them around and hampering their creative freedom; I hope they die in a fire!

Vivendi also had a big hand in destroying Interplay, thereby killing the Black Isle version of Fallout 3.

uh... it's their software. They can charge whatever they want to whomever they want. The consumers can choose to buy it... or not. Speak with your wallet.

Me, I bought it.
