Valve, Steam, HL2

I had a legit copy of HL2 on my laptop, did a clean install and decided to install HL2 on my new desktop instead.

It had been about 3 months since I played it (only 1 player, never played on-line) I subsequently forgot my Password and/or login. I tried to re-register and now I get the message that my cd key is already registered which is to be expected I suppose.

The problem is in order to delete and re-register the account you have to send in your info as well as pics of the discs, a pic of the cd key and receipt.

I sent everything in excect for the receipt since I bought the item here.

My question is how long does it take to reset the key and will they do it without a valid receipt. The game was never registered before I received it.

If Valve leaves me hanging I guess I'll have to go to the 'bay' and look for a solution.

I'm away from my PC w/ steam so I can't be postitive, but isn't there a link on the login screen that says "forgot password/login?" Then you can click that and have that sent to the email address you registered with.

As for the resetting of the key, I'm not sure how long it's supposed to take. I do know that the pic of the receipt is just to show you didn't steal it, but all they really need is a pic of the discs and key to prove it's yours. I don't think you'll have any problem not having a receipt.

I did try the 'lost password/login' link but I think I gave them my school email. Since I have graduated I no longer have access to that account.
