I have a a64 venice 3000+, DFI lanparty nf4 ultra d, and this 2 gigs of this ram:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820145505

I attempted an OC today (my first) and so far I got the cpu to 2.1 Ghz and the system is stable thus far. However as I tried different combinations of multipliers and HTT speeds it seemed my ram was cuasing a lot of instability. So a few questions:

To get to 2.1 ghz I dropped the ram down to 166 mhz, then increased the HTT to 234 mhz, yet in cpu-z it says the ram is clocked at 191 mhz, shouldnt it be 200 mhz??

What amount of voltage do you recommend is a good value for this ram? Bear in mind Im not trying to go over 200 mhz, Im only trying to increase the cpu speed (I am also dropping HTT/LDT ratio...). In the this thread ( http://forums.anandtech.com/messageview...atid=28&threadid=1497607&enterthread=y ) it says to put the voltage at max for the ram, so Im a bit confused about that and certainly dont want to fry my ram....

Now concerning timings. My rams/mobos default timings is 3 4 8 4 1T
When I drop it down to 166 mhz, it changes to 3 4 7 4 1T.
So if I increase the HTT to where the ram is nearly 200mhz again I should change the tras back to 8 right?

When I tried to drop down the ram to anything below 166 mhz, it wouldnt boot, I didnt try to mess with the timings at the time (since then I have been reading more about it hehe). I read in this forum that changing it to 2T can improve stability so thats something I need to try.

My goal is to get the HTT to 300mhz by dropping LDR ratio at x3 and ram at ddr 100, so at 300mhz HTT the HTT would be around 1800 double pumped, and the ram would be close to ddr 400 again. While my cpu would be around 2700 mhz....

So anyways if you have some advice, it would be appreciated. :)

I think you shouldn't put the DIMM regulator any higher than 2.9v. I believe you have one of the rare mobos that can do that. It is pretty difficult to fry RAM. Unfortunately, that is all I can help you with on that info.
