value ram question

I'm looking to buy 1gig of PC3200 for an A64 system, and after reading Zebo's guide I see little reason to spend $200+. I'm leaning toward the Corsair Value Select, but I saw Newegg had some G.skill value RAM that was just a little pricier but claimed timings of 2-3-3-6 instead of 2.5. Any opinions of this memory/brand? It might be worth the extra $15 for it. Any other suggestions for value ram would be appreciated as well-thanks!

I believe the valu ram does not carry the lifetime warranty...I have gskills and the higher end line...It will do cas 2,2,2,6 at pc3200, but I cant get this stuff to run rated speeds of 550ddr at cas 2.5,3,3,7....however I think that may have to do with the memory controller and my high HTT (295-330 depending on the multi)

I have talked to the ppl at gskill and I actually think the stuff is more tested on prescott systems and I dont think it is that good on A64 systems if you plan on ocing and have a high OC planned....

that is my 2 cents now from 4 sticks tested and sizeable amount of ram tweaking testing....Take it for what it is worth...

Edit: I can run 550ddr at cas 2.5,3,3,7 but I have to drop the multiplier to like 8x 277 to get it to work and even then I haven't done an extensive memtesting like I normally do...the problem was that that was dropping my cpu 400mhz to get it to work...At 8.5x277 it was not stable....at 9x277 it needs cas 3 to run and not all that stable....

I am not ipressed....

I am thinking of getting some ballistix so I can run cas 2.5,2,2,7 timings like zebo at 480-500ddr range....
