Value RAM poll.

I don't really have a "preference" since it's not like I used them all... they're pretty much all the same.

Corsair is working fine for me.

I agree with whichever is cheapest. I got my Corsair and have absolutely no complaints. As a matter of fact, some people think I have impossible frame rates for a X700 Pro in BF2. Go figure.

BTW, that's the CAS 2.5 (2x512 MB).

I only have one of those (Geil) so I can't say which is best. If I where buying value right now I would probably get the corsair but thats only because it is cheapest (As far as I know) and can actually oc a little. MY Geil can't oc at all but it does run rock solid at stock speed and that is what I was looking for. Plus it has the nifty blue heat spreaders 😉

On the other hand I build machines for only a select number of people and have purchased only 3 sticks of PQI but all had problems. I tried them in multiple motherboards with different CPU's and no go, the build was always unstable. I am not rulling them out completly, just that my small taste left me with a feeling of unease about PQI. I plan to never use there ram again.

Yea my experiences with pqi...have sucked. However ive never had problems with patriot, buffalo and kingston.

I've used two of the above and a few more brands. To be honest, I really haven't found any appreciable difference between any of them. They all ran at advertised specs and were all very forgiving over a wide range of motherboards I've used. Because they're the low-end of the manufacturer's product line, I really don't expect them to be great overclockers nor do I hold it against them if they don't.

I'd get whatever is cheapest.

Kingston.......... just because I got lucky 3 years ago when I bought 2x256 meg sticks of Valueram PC-2700 cas3 and it had BH-6 on the sticks (BH-^ is dang near as good as BH-5). 😀 Still using them too..........
