Value RAM - Corsair VS vs Mushkin

Value RAM is just dropping price like a bad habbit. Local FRY's in Atlanta have the Corsair VS 512x2 for $70 AR and now a new ad today lists the Mushkin Value for $60 AR. Both are 2.5 - 3 - 3, so does anyone know of a heads up comparison of value ram? I've been trying to find one to make a decision but have fallen short.

Upgrading to another set in the future for 4x512, they would still be capable of 1T performance, right? Or is 2 gig sticks preferrable?
 
Since the Mushkin is cheaper then, I suppose it's worthwhile. 🙂

1gig x 2 over 512mbx4, are we talking about real benefits in game, or just a preference? Curious because 1gigx2 runs like $170 for Corsair Value (3-3-3), and I could get 2 sets of the Mushkin for $120... 1 for me, 1 for the gf... for rebates sake 🙂
 
The mushkin memory is really nice, and since it's cheaper, I'd say go that route.

Either way can't hurt, they are both fantastic companies.

I have 4x512 MB Corsair in my system, but both brands are good, so i'd go with Mushkin since it's cheaper 🙂

Damn i forget the name of those markers they use for that, unless my sight is wrong & they branded them.
 
So how much difference btwn 1gig x 2 and 512 x 4 performance wise? Negligible, minimal, or to the point of noticable in games?
 
When you run 4 double sided sticks with a newer Athlon 64, (vencice, san diego, or a dual core) the memory is forced to run at 2T command rate. This affects performance, but not by very much. In games, I seriosly doubt you would see a diffence. The rerason I would recommend 2x1GB is for future upogradability, you can stickm in a coipule mnore gigs if needed... Still, 4x512 will have better timings and be a bit cheaper.

I personally have mushkin VS. Both are decent , but I am still going to recommend mushkin becasue of my great experiences with it. It is rock stable and easily OCs to 220MHz. I bought it when it when $125 was considered cheap for RAM (January), and the corsair was running around $140. Either one would be great, juts get whichever is cheaper.
