that said, if you just met her don't get her anything too big/extravagant.

I'd agree with the go-small. If you JUST met, nothing serious, a $10 box of chocolates should more than do, IMO. But then, I think Valentines day is a heist anyhow, and a waste of money. I celebrate it on the 15th, when all the good chocolate goes on sale. 😉

Too bad I've given up chocolate, candies and anything of the sort. I just plan a nice dinner out the weekend after.
