Val Kilmer is an awful actor

I've got no problem with either Val Kilmer or Dennis Quaid. I'm not gonna rush out and see whichever movie they're in, but I dont think they are bad by any stretch of the imagination.

Which brings us to Val Kilmer, certainly one of the most intriguing actors of the last decade, but also one of the most reviled. Joel Schumacher, who directed him in the second of the Batman movies, called him "the most psychologically disturbed human being I have ever worked with." His own brother, Mark, claims he suffers from "grandiose narcissistic tendencies."

He was good in Salton Sea and HEAT, too.

I like Val. I think he's pretty cool. Haven't seen Spartan yet, but I usually like Mamet stuff.

Just watched Spartan last night. Val Kilmer seemed all over the map, acting wise. My wife thought he seemed like he was on a lot of drugs. I thought it was like half the scenes he really cared about acting, and the rest he was just picking up the paycheck at the end of the day.

I think Kilmer is a good actor, not amazing, but not bad by any means. Have heard he is very hard to work with and is semi-crazy though

oh and i thought he did a godo job in Willow

I guess this qualified him for "The Doors" ?

He was also good in thunderheart.

Never judge an actor by his acting in a mamet role, unless that actor is rebecca pigeon.

Exhibit A) Top Gun. No, nothing spectacular, but he wasn't "bad" either.

Exhibit B) Tombstone. Uh, yeah, he was awesome. Not only did he have the most memorable one-liners from one actor in a serious movie EVER, but he also delivered them quite well. Plus, if you get the extended version, there's a small scene that was cut out that shows him acting VERY wel once again. (All that being said, I still don't understand his last scene where he looks at his feet and says, "That's funny.")

Exhibit C) Heat. Incredible. Perfect. Flawless. Period.

Not as bad as Keanu Reeves.. 😛

(Don't get me wrong, I like Keanu and most of his movies.. but he's about the dryest popular actor out there.. lol)

He probably expected to die with his boots on.

THAT'S AWESOME!!! I never thought of that. You've finally ended my search for an answer on that one. Thank you, kind sir, thank you.

I actually like Val, & enjoy most of his movies.

The writing & dialogue in Spartan was strange as heck, seemed like I was listening to a movie over the radio.

Good story though.
