Vaio Battery acting up

I have a Vaio PCG-R505TSK with a no-brand battery that's about six months old. It's been working OK (90-120 minutes) up until a couple weeks ago -- it's now dropped dramatically, down to like 30-40 minutes.

Also, the Power Meter has stopped working -- it constantly shows 100% until the laptop powers down, without any alarms going off.

Are these issues related? Ideas what can be done? Is there a battery calibration function for the Vaio?
