vacation update

Scuba diving was awesome... Most amusing part of scuba: the girl with us who after going below the thermocline once refused to ever return to that depth. Water temp went from a bath water 80 degrees at the surface to a sharp drop down to 51 degrees at about 16 feet. (and 42 degrees deeper.) I thought it was much more comfortable below the thermocline - 6.5 mil FJ wetsuits are pretty warm.

And, at the vacation site,
So far, I'm winning the contest for most bass, biggest bass, and most legal (15"+) bass.
I'd invite any of you upstate NY people to stop by for a beer, but it'd be too hard to find me. 🙂

where in the heck is a thermocline that drastic.

that's some cold water, especially so shallow. I normally don't wear a wetsuit when I dive. Don't need to.

Spring fed flooded limestone quarry. I didn't need a wetsuit for those temps, certainly not for the duration that I was down there. (Although, it did help keep it comfortable to just kinda hover around, rather than need to exert myself burning energy, and thus air, to keep warm.)
