Vacation pics from visgf's and my trip to the Black Hills!

This oughta keep you occupied for a little while. There's about 100 pics from various locations throughout South Dakota. Every pic in here is within 2 hours of visgf's house.

All pictures were taken with my $150 Olympus D-340R digital camera. They were the low quality pics and vary from 50k-60k in size.

Feel free to ask anyquestions about specific locations.

My wifes (who is from Souix Falls)Grandmother lives in Pierre so we have driven back many times and it is very beautiful country. We are usually in a hurry to get to grannies so we don't stop for to long but we are going to try and take some extra time to see the sights.

That's a nice area of the country. Haven't been there in a while, but got good memories.

Driving through Custer State Park and having to wait for a herd of buffalo to cross the road. That was pretty cool. Or letting the road agents stop and poke their heads in the car (road agents = wild donkeys) to get a bite to eat. That was fun. Don't think my mom liked it too much though.

Cool, glad you guys and gals enjoyed them. visgf grew up about 3 miles outside of Custer.

The second shot has a faint outline of what's called "The Needles". If you are familiar with the area, then you know that it's a very beautiful collection of rock spires.

On a sadder note, here's what a cigarette butt thrown out of a car window can do to an area like this :
