there's no ' in want, but either way this ISN'T a hot deal for anyone!

this forum is for posting hot deals you know about, not asking for people if they have a hot deal for you. you might want to try asking this in the "i wanna" thread.

I just did a week long vacation package to Cancun with my girlfriend. I booked it through Expedia.com.

7 Nights in an ocean-view deluxe sweete (and damn this thing was incredible), direct flight airfair from LAX, for both people was $1760.

I thought it was a pretty good deal.. since pretty much the cheapeast airfair you can find elsewhere is around $450-500 a ticket, and usually aren't even direct flights.

Also, I picked one of the nicer hotels.. so you can go a lot cheaper than that as well, depending on how much you want to spend. But give them a try.. and play around with the actual departure date.. it makes a huge $$ difference. (Usually cheapeast to leave Wednesday).

Good luck

The best vacation package to Cancun is to not go at all. Believe me...you can drink and go to clubs and watch drunk jerks hit on busted girls in America for a fraction of the cost (assuming you're 21. If you're not, then Cancun is right for you, I suppose). The beach is beautiful, and the water is this amazing blue, and there are a lot of fun activities like watersports to do if you can stay sober long enough. Don't leave the island without doing a jungle tour.

I guess if you are over 21 and for some reason feel that you MUST waste your time in a place like Cancun when we have beautiful beaches and a tourist trade that isn't founded on taking advantage of people right in our own backyards in the US that can cost much less to go to, do NOT, repeat, _DO NOT_ use any of those crap tour companies like Student City or any of that. You pay more and get less, and they try to sell you on crap like this:
If you buy our party pass, you get VIP entrance to one club each night and you don't have to wait in line.

Right. I paid the cover and didn't wait in any line while all the so-called VIPs waited to show their bracelets. AND I could go to any club I wanted. Plan it yourself.

Oh, and EVERYONE thinks they deserve a tip in Cancun. Believe me, by the end of your stay in Cancun, you'll be so tired of people whistling, honking, and generally haranguing you for money....

It's better when you're not going during the crowded college spring break season. I know someone who went in July (and planned her own trip) and she had a fairly good time. I enjoyed my trip there, but the whole time I was there I couldn't help but think I could have gone to a US beach resort, and done the same thing, much cheaper, and probably better quality. And have been able to drink the water hahahah

And this thread belongs under Iwanna as someone already mentioned.

I'm sorry, where in the US is the water as blue as it is in Cancun?

I've been to Florida, CA and the Gulf Coast and the answer is NOWHERE.

If you really can't tolerate the party scene, annoying drunks, and a city that is essentially like any other American city just in a different place as described above...try going to Playa del Carmen. It is approximately 40 min. south of Cancun and is absolutely beautiful. It hasn't been quite as developed as Cancun so it still has a little Mexican flavor and you can definitely relax and enjoy it. While there, try the Jungle Crossing Adventure Tour if it is still around. This was the best 1 day trip I have ever taken. We went through Apple Vacation and had an all inclusive package for around 1400 per person that worked out quite well.
