Hey guys
i am going on vacation in Bali, and i have an XTi

are there any awesome lenses (for a reasonable price) that you'd recommend I bring?

i have the standard kit lens, the 75-300 lens (el cheapo version), and the EF 50mm f/1.8 II

thanks

I would get circular polarizers for all your lenses and go with them.

why not one for his largest lens, and then step adapters all the way? That way he could invest in a very nice polarizer rather than have to buy many

You will find yourself using the 18-55mm almost the entire time. If you want, you can sell the old kit lens and pick up the new 18-55mm IS.

75-300mm will be useful for wildlife photography, if you plan on doing that. The nifty fifty will come in handy for available light shooting without flash.

an excellent summary. the 18-55 is better for landscapes and scenic shots. I dunno what the behavior is on the Canon 18-55, but I know that distortion was negligible at 24mm on the Nikon 18-55, so try using that for landscapes (assuming the optical formulas are the same).
