After battling the heat and lines for 7 hours, going from Canada to UK to France and ended up in Italy my wife tells me we need to go back to the UK for the firework show. Really? We are about 2/3rds around the park and we now need to go back to UK.

Old guy celebrating his 50th wedding anniversary. Young guy asks him what his secret to a long, happy marriage is...."On our 1st anniversary, I took my wife to Italy. Went back and picked her up last week."

And don't forget the kicker ... how much did you pay to get into the park?

You're there to have a good time. Just let her have her way and try to enjoy best you can. The walk back will be more pleasant than the fighting.

I mean you don't have to do the rides again on your way back... it's not THAT far.

Is Epcot still in the dumper? Went there 5 years ago and it was looking really sad.

Some of the old, awesome attractions from the 90s and early 2000s are gone, but overall, Epcot is pretty sweet right now. Test Track got a major overhaul and it's badass. The fireworks show, in addition to being the best one I've ever seen, is now extended to almost double the length. I'd say Epcot is the best of all Disney parks if you're over the age of 10.

Only noobs go to UK to watch the fireworks show. Best bet is by the walkway near Mexico that takes you back to the exit. Soon as the finale is over, about face and get the hell out of there before the other 200,000 people crowd you out. There are also other areas to watch where you're not 'right in front' but you get out a hell of a lot faster.

I'm reminded of that time I was walking to class and overheard a sorority girl say "yeah, I just had to walk ALL the way across campus yesterday, it fucking killed me." For reference, "all the way across campus" is about a 20 minute walk at worst. /faceplam

I haven't been to Epcot since 1986. It's hard for me to remember how far of a trip that is...I just know we went in March to avoid the extreme heat. Florida is pretty miserable in July.

Yeah, I remember a high school trip to Disney World in June, I bought a spray bottle of ice water for $17. Worst thing is looking back on how hellishly hot that day was... still worth it. :p

UK would sorta work if you stayed at Boardwalk or Yacht/Beach club and were using the back exit ;)

Blah, Test Track is pretty lame now. They basically just replaced all the sets with rope lights. Boring...

Hmmm...I was a diver at the Living Seas years ago, but I can't remember where the best fireworks spot was. I'd say directly middle across the water from the golf ball building side, but by that point we were usually drunk from drinking around the world. I do remember a decent view from the deck of the Japan building.

I liked the older test track because you got to actually feel the track. Blocks, speed bumps, etc. used to be incorporated into it.
