V6800 Deceased?

Just wondering if anyone has seen this before. I have an Athlon 600, on an ASUS K7V, with an ASUS V6800 AGP card. System will start boot process normally, go through POST, past the Win98SE cloud screen, and into the various DOS-type messages. Just about the time when it should switch over video modes (green srceen)prior to the WIN98SE, the screen freezes. Nothing happens although I can hear Win98SE continuing its boot sequence. Monitor is fine with another card and boot sequence is normal. Drivers have been removed and reinstalled (Asus 3.75 and Nvidia 6.31). Card has larger heatsink/fan combo and has not been o/c'd too much. Bad/blown chipset? :Q

Have you tried booting into safe mode (F8) ? If you can run safe mode then I'd be suspecting driver, IRQ issues etc. I've seen similar problems when my ide driver has caused a conflict with other PCI devices.

Good luck
