V5-6K?

Poof be gone... With all of the huff of 3DFX a month and a half ago... I haven't heard a damn thing about the V5-6k since...

Anyone else?

Happy with my GF2 64Meg

Why would anyone buy it this late in the game anyway. This card will be released only months before the next generation hits the shelves...

1) The 6k will RAPE everything on the market for a few months.
2) 3dfx has the best FSAA implementation and doesn't need a constant stream of driver updates to fix/improve performance as it was right to begin with.
3) 3dfx will not make the same mistake twice (I hope) and they should release the Rampage on time with performance to rival the NV20 and G800.

Is that enough for you?

Ya know, I used to be DIEHARD 3dfx fan. However, I picked up a GeForce 2 DDR 32mb the other day and I can say w/o a doubt it's hands down better, faster, and a more positive experience than any Voodoo product in the past, with the exception of the V1. The V6 will not smoke everything, and as reported by many of the review sites, FSAA in full implementation lowers performance. Now, I'm all about having a nice screen to watch and play games with, but the second my screen lags when I'm in the middle of a fragfest is the second I turn off bell and whistle crap like FSAA.

And it's odd also how all of a sudden 3dfx is singing about image quality when the card I bought a year ago (v3 2k) was touted for it's speed over image quality. (Yes I know Anandtech's review pointed this out, but it was a great insight so I thought I'd repeat it).

I just feel like 3dfx doesn't really care about gamers anymore. They're making their cards and expecting them to sell on name recognition alone. Hopefully they'll get their act together, but Nvidia has the best card out right now, and that's what I'll use.
