Whatever. It's still true, Voodoo5 is a joke of a card. Just a tricked out Voodoo1.

And before you call me an nVidiot, my favorite 3d card company is actually Videologic/PowerVR (my first 3d card was a Matrox M3d ). Their technology has so much potential, however at the moment, nVidia is clearly making the best cards on the market. That's why they're getting so many deals (ie. Xbox) and so much attention from the industry.

3dfx needs to rethink their crappy product design strategies...

Looks like someone didn't read the article. It points out how there's basically no innovation behind the 6000. For a fraction of it's $600 price tag you can pickup a card that:

-has a lot more features
-is much smaller
-generates a lot less heat
-doesn't require an external ps

...and still offers competitive performance (GeForce2 GTS or Radeon), not to mention the upcoming NV20.

more like a scaled down quadro which basically would annihilate the V6000.

Seriously, the issue is (for all you voodoo faithful) WE ARE ALL DISAPPOINTED IN THE NEW VOODOOs

Nobody who has a geforce wants voodoo's to suck. We want them to rock, so that we can force ourselves to build another computer and put one in it.

unfortunatley, the voodoo's are:

1. overpriced (seriously)
2. rediculously big (is this the face of new technology?)
3. poorly designed (heat monster, power monger)
4. underperforming considering dollars spent vs. total performance.

The ATI radeons were nice, and could almost compete with the geforce.

Now dont get me wrong. I loved LOVED my V3 3000... when I played games with that thing for the first time, I thought I was in heaven.

Now, the geforce cards simply dominate the technology. And hopefully another company will produce something that rivals their performace to dollar ratio. The geforce MX cards are simply unbeatable. to get something that is that nice for 100bucks is what we all hope for...

now if only ATI could come out with something that rivals that for 90, then we would have something to really debate about.
