V4/V5 Drivers

Do these work for V3's? I heard somewhere they did, because obviously they are optimized for DX8, anyone had experience?
 
Some people claim that they do....but I don't think so, if they did, I'd think they would just post one set instead of V4/5 and then also V3.
 
No not really. They might work for a few days but then your system will start behaving erratically. For example, my system started having problems with ACPI and sleep mode.

The V3 1.07 drivers are pretty good now so there's no real need to use the V4/V5 drivers.
 
For a little while (when the V5 specific drivers weren't in existance) there were unified drivers. However the V5's performance was hurt by them.
