How does this racing wheel work with "Driver" and "Gran Turismo" for the SONY PlayStation?

RossMAN: it doesn't. Take a look at your PSX joystick port, and then at your PC joystick port.

yeah...V4 is nice only if you can still get it for $29. :)

If you just want to drive w/ out force feedback, then $14.88 is actually cheaper than most of gamepad.

Does the V3 have Windows 2000 support?
I posted the V4 deal a few weeks ago after buying one at Office Max for $29, I am thinking of returning it because it will not work with Windows 2000.

I'm a little confused -- the Office Depot site says this is hardware for the Sony Playstation.

Then one person says it won't work on your Playstation.

And the next person asks if it has Windows 2000 support.

What does this steering wheel / pedal work on?

If I can play my Need For Speed games on it on my PC, I'll buy it for a second for $15.

A little help please...

icecube, there is a PC version and PSX version of this wheel, both from Interact and both called the V3. They are incompatible with one another. I imagine that the parts are virtually identical, however.

Thanks KBtrade and cremefilled.

So this thread/deal at Office Depot for $15 is for the Playstation version.

What does the PC version sell for? Is there a good deal on the PC version somewhere?

FROM the INSTALLATION DISK, it says for WIN95/Win98/WinME/Win2000.

I am still using Win98SE.

****** pedal plug into the driving wheel, and wheel plug into your game port ******

I've been looking for Playstation steering wheel lately.
There are 3 versions of V3, For Playstation, N64, and PC.
For the Playstation and N64 versions, you can convert it from PSX to N64 by buying an additional converter plug. Same as N664 to PSX.
But I'm not sure about the PC version.

Sorry cremefilled & ksheets, my kids decided to keep the V4 for their Windows 98 machine. Maybe by the time they let me try it there will be Windows 2000 support for it! :D

the link to the interact site is down, so i'll add my two cents. i got one at fry's for the same price ages ago, and it is not like the playstation version in that it doesnt have a dpad or the buttons along the middle. mine has 4 buttons on the base, 2buttons on the wheel, and 2 buttons directly behind those on the rear.
regarding win2k support, i forget if it worked or not, but im pretty sure it should if you select a generic 2 axis (wheel?) with 4 or even 6 buttons.
well overall i'd say its worth the price. nothing fancy, not too flimsy, but i can say i had fun the first few days playing with it. its been under a pile collecting dust for the past months. i referred a friend and he said it wasnt stable enough, the pedals were kinda small for him (6foot guy) and returned it. oh, i believe it was 30-15 rebate or something.. again i forget if i received the rebate, i dont think i did.. (sorry for my lapses, i barely remember my freshman year of college =P)
i scanned that review and maybe the only thing i can add is the resistance is there, though not to the extent that it snaps back to center position.

so final words, if you're a racing junky, go ahead, its only 15bucks. if you're that cheap, you can return it (restocking fee?), or even resell it heh. if you're a pc junky, go ahead and get it, you'll have fun for a few days, then throw it with the rest of the junk you have. hope this helps, and remember mine is quite old, perhaps they've updated it.
