I remember getting 2 of them at Staples about 6 months ago for FREE!
$59.95 less $30 mail in rebate that was expired on the retail box, so they gave you the $30 at the register. $29.95 out the door, then downloaded $30 rebate from 3dfx, and FREE!

Not a bad price, but I don't think it is worth the price as the only 3D card in your computer. The V3-2K deal in the other thread is much better. However, this would make a great card to play Diablo II in Glide mode paired up with your regular 3D card. Only Win9x users need apply as the V2's Win2K support blows.

Actually - it's not a bad deal at all when you consider that for $60 you can get *two* v2-1000 and sli them together; thereby giving you roughly the graphic equivalent of a v33k if I'm not mistaken.

Yeah, but problem is that it'd use up another PCI slot. And unfortunately, I need all the PCI slots I can get. :p

Once again, we could price match them at Staples, buy 2 of them and apply $20 off coupon for the price of $19.99. Now does staples carry Voodoo 2 1000?

The Voodoo3-2000 is slightly faster than the V2-1000 in SLI. (That info is available on the 3drx website in a faq.) The V3-3000 is slightly faster again. However, the V2-1000 can be useful for the occasional game (mostly old ones now) that works best under Glide, or even only under Glide. Ultima Ascension comes to mind. I've also used my V2-1000 SLI setup instead of my Geforce when the occasional game would make the Geforce lock up (early builds of Unreal Tournament, Blood 2, etc.). You need to be running SLI to get 1024X728 resolution, remember.

Hahha.. Thats great. I'm not Mike, but tried to do him a favor. Even after logging out as Mike, I still get the same link. Wonder if Mike appreciates that. Oh well, seems to be only on that card. Couldn't get the dirt on what games Mike has.
