Has anyone out their done or heard of a vio voltage mod on a epox 7kxa. I've got a 700 tbird that ran a gig on an asus k7m but wont get over 850 in this 7kxa. The cooling is good. Ps is 300w. System load is low. Vcore has been at 1.85, 1.95, 2.00. The vio is only 3.20v as reported in bios and in windows. I need a mod for this vio voltage. Can anyone help?

I used to have that board and one of the main reason I got rid of it was that I was told that if I ever wanted to put a Tbird in that I would not be able to get it over 850..I'm sorry I don't remember the reasoning behind it..try doing a search on this thread.

Ok..I found the thread that changed my mind on getting a Tbird.
I cut and pasted it for you..so here you go---
"i have a Slot A Tbird 700 that i might be able to let go for the right price. I'm using it on an ABIT KA7 with a gold finger device overclocked to 800, but i'm pretty sure i would get to 900 with out problems since the person i bought it from was able to do that with the old 750 chipset by athlon. but i can't hit past 800 because of the KX133 limitations on TBirds 800+ "

You see you were using an old 750 chipset with that K7M, that is why you were able to get above 850...but as the seller told me, the KX133 boards, which is what the Epox board is, have some kind of limitation with Tbirds.
That is why I stayed with the classic athlon. Here is a shot in the dark, look to see if there is a new bios from EPOX addresses that problem..I doubt it, but worth a try.

thx stockjock I had heard that their was something with the tbird in this board but never found what it was just that epox didnt support that cpu in it. That may change everything(new mobo, cpu)Ill also search back in the forums. thx again

It really doesn't have to do with the EPOX board..it has to do with the VIA chipset...any board that has the VIA KX133 chipset won't go over 800-850.

I see what your saying. And your saying im gonna buy a new board. I wanted to up to a socket anyways an im buying abit this time. thx again for your time

thx crash2much. have you tried this mod it looks a little diff. in pic than my board. looks like their a resistor i dont have. but i may try anyway I can read the schematic and use a little of that 36000 I spent at DeVry.
